Organized religion calls me a sinner. Government calls me a taxpayer. Employers call me a human resource. Business calls me a consumer. I’m therefore of value in this life only to the degree that I grovel, pay taxes, work, and buy stuff. You’ll forgive me if I have nothing nice to say. Thank you.
My name is Randy Vaughan and this site coincides with the publication of my book (from which the previous quote was taken) The Maniacal Laughter of the Damned: Why you can live and work in the real world without making a deal with the Devil.
Please let me know if you’ve read the book and whether or not you liked it, or if you’re simply joining in and commenting on existing posts. Either way, do join in. Your comments, favorable or not, are indeed most welcomed.
And if you’re worried about privacy, don’t be. Only I see your email address and it goes to the grave with me.
I’ve read part of the book…still working on the rest, in my copious free time!
Randy’s interest in our spiritual aspects is not feigned. Nor should anyone’s be. But just as we have gone from a hunter-gatherer society in which we spent 24 hours a week seeing to ALL our food, clothing and shelter needs, to a faux-democracy in which we work at least an additional 16 hours for the benefit of no one but our corporate bosses, we must beware of joining an organized religion which, like our jobs, siphons off our spirituality to the benefit of those very same bosses.
Our spirits are very powerful, but that doesn’t do us much good if we give that power to establishments that turn it over to our corporate leaders. (Think that isn’t happenning? Then describe Pat Robertson or Mitt Romney or Fred Phelps in any other way…without simply parroting their pretty little phrases.)
God is Within each of us, and every other thing. That is where you will find your spirituality. The churches urge you look OUTSIDE instead of it; but there you will only find God®, not God.
Hi Daddy! I can’t wait to read your book! Congratulations! You deserve it!
Congratulations!
Looks good so far Randy.
Make sure the Geico Lizard plays me in the movie adaptation of the book.
Dude, Let me know when the book comes out and I will be in line for it. Hopefully, you put in the time that you and I worked at Medcom, Inc.
Randy,
I can`t wait to get a copy of the book. I think it will help a lot of people.

Hey Dad! I can’t wait to get into those pages. Apparently you’ve already gotten inside a few people’s head. We’ll have millions to talk about when I get home. Talk to you guys soon. Good Luck and Congradulation! You deserve it.
Randy,
Very proud of you Dude! Can’t wait to get my hands on your book. I’ll have to get you to sign it for me so when you get really famous I can show people that I know you. I always knew you could do it.
Bonjour Randy. I am looking forward to reading your book, which will arrive soon I hope, though my fellow Canadians are taxing our border resources by going on mad shopping sprees in the U.S. thanks to our newly-mighty Canadian dollar. I used to think the work problems you were discussing were typically American, but to be fair I had been seeing things through the filter of the rosy experiences I have had thanks to my lucky piece of paper with that red seal on it. In the meantime, best wishes and congratulations.
Randy,
Woohoo…went to order your book and Amazon is out of stock!! Hope more come in before Christmas!! Congratulations….I knew you could do it!!
Happy Holidays,
Kathi
Saw you on author nation thought I would say hi .
Randy,
While you and I have often found ourselves agreeing with each other, and have forged a good i-friendship, it is odd how two people so diametrically opposed, can find such a vast amount of common ground. It is truly a shame that the forked tongue politicians, can’t seem to do so, rather than constantly shooting barbs at each other, in the never ending struggle to gain more power. I look forward to reading the insights and thoughts in your book. Your views, are always controversial, and well thought out, even if (I think) they are often wrong. Best wishes to you buddy. I hope more people read your book, and learn from your insight. Or, at least start to think about truth, rather than spouting the blather that the majority seem to absorb like water by a sponge.
i chose to buy and read your book. this comment is only one of the consequences. your message is for the masses, they just don’t know it yet. we need to talk. look for email from me at your myway account.
happy trails, ed.
Read the book, and I truly believe it should be required reading for anyone before they graduate high school. Good to know I’m not the only one who doesn’t accept being treated like a serf. Bravo.
